OUR PASTOR


     Bishop Gary Cooper is a native of Akron, OH where he and his siblings were groomed spiritually under the tutelage of his parents the late Evangelist Betty Cooper and Bishop Albert Cooper, of whom is the present Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God Militant and Pillar and Ground of the Truth (MPGT).  Bishop Cooper served faithfully under his father’s ministry for over 13 years.
      Bishop Cooper received his undergraduate education from Berean Bible College in Christian Education in 1996 and his graduate education from the International Apostolic University of Grace and Truth. Respectively conferred him the Masters of Divinity 1n 1998.  He later continued his graduate education at the Methodist Theological Seminary in Delaware, OH.  Respectively He was awarded the Masters of Arts in Counseling Ministries in 2007.
      Bishop Gary Cooper was married to his lovely wife Sis. Glenda Cooper in 1980, and from their union were birthed their daughter Sherri Cooper (Luten) and their son Gary Cooper Jr.  Bishop and Sis Cooper have been married for 29 years and have 3 grandchildren from their daughter’s union.
      Bishop and Sis Cooper relocated their family to Newark NJ and Joined the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ in 1986.  They spent the following 5 years under the personal mentoring and tutelage of the late Bishop Levy Daniels.   
Feeling a strong conviction to continue and further his ministry under the auspices of the Church of God MPGT Bishop Cooper and his family relocated to KY where he served as a local minister in Pikeville, and Richmond KY.  
     Bishop Cooper was appointed Sr. Pastor of the Church of God MPGT Columbus, OH by the Executive Board in June of 1996.  His commitment to Preaching and teaching the truths of scriptures has its firm foundation in the Apostolic Faith.
     Bishop and Sis Cooper have served faithfully as Pastor and First Lady for 16 years.  Bishop Cooper is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Churches of God MPGT and has been employed as a Pediatric Chaplain for 15 years.  He currently serves as a Chaplain with the Pastoral Care Department for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
